The area has a long history of farming and Icknield Street is an old Roman road which runs close by. There are numerous minor roads which one could take, but many of these are only the width of a car and are best avoided.

These notes are based on 40-years driving experience in this area, many sat nav systems overlook the width of a road, and just because a road is subject to the National Speed Limit of 60mph does not stop it being the width of a car.
